QuakeWorld and Doom?

I saw this very interesting news post on Stomped. Here's to hoping he is successful!
John Faulkenberry, who worked on Half-Life: Opposing Force, was on Efnet #doomroom last night. He told me he is wanting to combine the Quakeworld net code with Doom to allow Doom to be playable on the net and also have dedicated Doom servers. Hopefully he will be able to get that done because I think that'd be great fun. I would love to get some more Doom action going for sure.
