Quake 3 Female Model/Skins/Sounds

Trillian from QGirlz sent me this email about a competition they are having to design female models, skins, and sounds for Quake III Arena. Here's the scoop:
The number of females making their mark on the gaming community is rapidly increasing. And although many gaming companies are offering more opportunities to play female characters, there is still a need of more appealing choices for female gamers. In response to this, QGirlZ with support from Polycount are launching a contest to create a new female model for Quake 3 Arena based on feedback from female gamers themselves.

Over 300 female gamers were contacted and asked one basic question, "What would you like to see in a female model?" The response was overwhelming and surprisingly varied. While some asked for a more realistic model showcasing a solid and muscular body... others asked for a bit of fantasy in a female model with a perfect shape... and some wondered why make it human... :c)

What is the best thing about this contest? It appeals to such a wide variety of talents - from 3D modeling to graphic design to sound recording. Plus there are some great prizes for the best entries.

So spread the word and start designing! January 1st, 2000 marks the start of the first phase in the contest - the Model competition. Visit the contest website for further details!
