NVIDIA (Mis)Uses GPL'd Code -- 9:50 am CST, Update by A.T. Hun
It seems that someone found a bit of code that NVIDIA had used in their closed-source Linux drivers that was licensed under the General Public License (GPL). The GPL says, among other things, that since GPL'd source code is freely available if you use it in a project, your project's source code must also be freely available. Slashdot reports that someone informed NVIDIA of the problem and, through a polite discussion, the problem was resolved. It's nice to see that things can be "fixed" without resorting to lawsuits.Recent Headlines
